How Conway County property taxes are calculated
Arkansas assesses real property at 20% of market value. Conway County then multiplies that assessed value by the total millage for the parcel's school district and city, where one mill equals $1 of tax per $1,000 of assessed value. The homestead credit is taken off the result, and it is available only on a qualifying primary residence.
Here is the working for a $175,000 home in Morrilton inside the South Conway County district, which carries a combined 54.1 mills for 2026 collections:
- $175,000 market value times 20% equals $35,000 assessed value.
- $35,000 times 54.1 divided by 1,000 equals $1,893.50 tax before credit.
- Subtract the $600 homestead credit to reach $1,293.50 estimated annual tax.
Move the same house into the rural tier of the Two Rivers #10 district at 45.4 mills and the tax before credit falls to $1,589, or $989 after the credit. Same market value, $304.50 less per year, decided by the district alone. That is why the county average works for a quick estimate but never for a final number.
Conway County millage rates by district and city
Each row below is a taxing combination published for Conway County for 2026 collections. In each line the three levy columns resolve to the overall rate shown. Conway County has the simplest city picture of any county on this site: every one of its four millage-levying cities charges exactly 5.0 mills.
| School district | City or area | School | City | County | Overall |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nemo Vista #8 | Rural | 38.3 | 0 | 9.8 | 48.1 |

Conway County rows taken from the Arkansas DFA Assessment Coordination Division 2025 Millage Report, covering 2026 collections and issued March 2026. The report also breaks the 5.0 mill city levy into its components, listed in the section below.
Why two Conway County homes can have different tax bills
The Conway County levy is a flat 9.8 mills everywhere in the county, and every millage-levying city adds exactly 5.0 mills. That leaves the school district as the only real variable, and it is a wide one: 35.6 mills in Two Rivers #10 against 40.9 mills in Greenbrier #47.
- Cities are a flat 5.0 mills, but they are assembled differently. Menifee and Oppelo levy 5 mills of general city tax. Morrilton splits its 5.0 mills into 3.0 mills general, 0.5 mills fire, 0.93 mills miscellaneous and 0.57 mills park. Plumerville splits its 5.0 into 3.0 general, 1.0 fire and 1.0 miscellaneous. A Morrilton and a Menifee address at the same value pay the same city tax, down to the dollar.
- Only one district has city rows. South Conway County is the only district in the county with parcels inside the four cities. Nemo Vista, Wonderview, Dardanelle, Greenbrier, Perryville and Two Rivers appear only as rural tiers, so a city address in those districts does not exist for tax purposes.
- The rural city tier is real. A South Conway County parcel outside any city limits pays 49.1 mills, and the same district inside a city pays 54.1. The 5.0 mill gap is exactly the city levy, so the city-village decision is worth about $200 a year on a $175,000 home.
- Two Rivers is the cheapest address in the county. At 45.4 mills it sits 8.7 mills below the Morrilton and Menifee rows. On a $175,000 home that is a $304.50 annual difference before any credit.
School district lines cross the county boundary in five directions here. The state report shows Wonderview reaching into Pope County; Dardanelle reaching into Yell, Logan, Conway and Pope; Greenbrier reaching in from Faulkner County; Perryville reaching in from Perry County; and Two Rivers reaching in from Yell County into Perry, Scott and Conway. That last one exists because Perry-Casa #2, Ola #10, Fourche Valley #13 and Plainview-Rover #7 all consolidated into Two Rivers #10, which is why an unfamiliar district name appears on a Conway County bill.
Morrilton, Menifee, Oppelo, Plumerville and the rest of Conway County
One thing to clear up first: Conway County is not Conway. The city of Conway sits in Faulkner County, and the Conway County seat is Morrilton. If you searched for Conway property tax looking for the city, you want the Faulkner County page instead. If your bill comes from Morrilton, you are in the right place.
Morrilton
Morrilton is the county seat and holds every county office connected to property tax. The assessor, the collector and the County Clerk are all at 117 S. Moose St., which is why most Conway County residents never need a second address. A Morrilton address in the South Conway County district pays 54.1 mills, the highest rate in the county and about $200 a year more than an identical home outside the city limits.
Menifee, Oppelo and Plumerville
These three cities all levy 5.0 mills of general city tax with no fire, police, park or library component. Each one sits inside the South Conway County district, so all three pay the same 54.1 mills as Morrilton. Plumerville is the exception in how its levy is built, adding 1 mill for fire and 1 mill for miscellaneous on top of its 3 mill general rate, but the total is still 5.0.
Rural Conway County
Most of the county's land area sits outside any city limits, which means no city levy at all. That makes the district choice everything. A rural parcel in South Conway County pays 49.1 mills while a rural parcel in Two Rivers #10 pays 45.4 mills, the lowest rate published for the county. Wonderview #2 at 49.0 and Nemo Vista #8 at 48.1 sit in between.
Conway County Assessor
Official name: Conway County Assessor's Office. Assessor: Mark Stobaugh. The assessor maintains appraisal and assessment records, tracks property transactions through the year, values land and improvements, and handles exemptions and homestead filings under Ark. Code 26-26-715. Collections are handled elsewhere, by the county collector.
The assessor's office shares the 117 S. Moose St. building with the collector and the County Clerk. If you are unsure which office to call, the quick rule is that value questions, property record corrections and homestead filings go to the assessor, and anything about a bill, a balance or a payment goes to the collector.

Conway County Collector
Official name: Conway County Collector's Office. Collector: Norbert Gunderman, listed by the state as Norbert Gunderman, Jr. The collector bills and collects real and personal property tax for the county, all four municipalities, the public schools, the public library and improvement districts. Setting property values is the assessor's job.
The Conway County payment portal is more explicit than most about how it works. Taxes paid online are credited to your account within two business days, and there is a 24 hour lag between the collector's office and the online system, so check that nobody paid in person first. Receipts are no longer mailed; enter an email address to receive one. One warning the county posts for residents: certified property can show as paid online when it is not, and those parcels must be redeemed through the Commissioner of State Lands instead.

How to look up a Conway County parcel and its tax
Conway County splits property records and tax records across two systems, and the county runs a third portal for payment. Knowing which one to open saves a phone call.
- Start with the assessor's property search at actDataScout, which the county sponsors for assessment records. Search by owner name, address or parcel number to pull the parcel record.
- Read the market value and the assessed value on the record. Arkansas assessed value is 20% of market value, so they should differ by that factor unless an Amendment 79 cap or a freeze applies.
- Note the school district and whether the parcel is inside Menifee, Morrilton, Oppelo, Plumerville or no city at all. That combination picks the row in the millage table above, and it is the whole reason two Conway County bills differ.
- For what was billed and paid, use the collector's record search through ARCountyData, which the collector's office sponsors as a free public search. It covers personal property as well as real estate.
- To pay, use CountyPay at countypay.ark.org, which also lets you find your parcel by name or street address if you do not have your taxpayer number to hand.

Paying Conway County property taxes
Conway County tax books open with the state window and the deadline is October 15, the same date that applies in all 75 Arkansas counties. The county's payment page is built around the online portal rather than a list of counter rules, so the clearest documented path is online.
What the county documents
- Online: CountyPay accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. A 3.6% processing fee is added to the amount of tax due, and the total shown is adjusted to include the cost of the state's eGovernment service. Credited within two business days.
- In person or by mail: the collector's office at 117 S. Moose St. #106, Morrilton. The collector's own page does not publish a card or convenience fee policy for counter payments, so ask the office before you arrive.
- Receipts: no longer mailed. Enter an email address during online payment, or view receipts at actDataScout's Conway County collector information page, which updates weekly.
A 10% penalty applies to taxes unpaid after October 15, as it does statewide. For the wider picture including delinquency and redemption, see pay Arkansas property taxes online and Arkansas delinquent property tax redemption.
Homestead credit in Conway County
The Arkansas homestead credit reduces the property tax on a qualifying primary residence. It is not automatic, and in Conway County you apply through the assessor's office at 117 S. Moose St., the same office that values the property.
Both figures above belong on this page because they cover different tax years. The calculator here models a 2026 bill, so it uses $600. The higher $675 applies to assessment year 2026, which is billed in 2027. Some county pages and third party sites still show an older $500 or $425 figure; those predate Act 330 of 2025. Step by step filing instructions sit in the Arkansas homestead credit application guide.
Conway County homeowners also get the Amendment 79 protections: taxable value on a primary residence can rise at most 5% per year, other real property at most 10% per year, and owners 65 or older or disabled can freeze the taxable value of their residence. Note that a freeze holds the value, not the tax bill. If the school board or the quorum court raises a millage rate, the tax can still rise on a frozen property. More detail is in the Arkansas senior property tax freeze guide.

Appealing a Conway County assessment
Start with the assessor. An informal conversation with the office at 117 S. Moose St. settles most disagreements about a property record, since errors in the details of a record can be corrected without any formal appeal at all.
If the value itself is the problem, the next step is the Conway County Board of Equalization. The County Clerk is the route in, because the clerk's office serves as secretary to the board under state law. The Conway County Clerk is at 117 S. Moose St., Room 202, on (501) 354-9621, Monday to Friday 8:00 to 4:30.
- Deadline to apply: the third Monday in August each year, by state law. An application may be made in person, by petition or by letter.
- When hearings start: by the second Monday in August at the latest.
- Evening access: at least one day a week, appeals are heard after normal business hours.
- Outcome: a written decision reaches the owner within ten business days.
- If still disputed: a petition to County Court, filed by the second Monday in October.
The board decides on the preponderance of the evidence, meaning whichever side has the stronger case. If you are a corporation or an LLC, a petition filed in County Court must be signed and filed by an Arkansas licensed attorney. For the statewide framework, see how to appeal a property tax assessment in Arkansas.

Conway County property tax examples
These examples use the Conway County average of 50.56 mills for 2026 collections with the $600 homestead credit applied. They are estimates, not quotes, because your parcel uses its own school district and may or may not carry a city levy.
| Market value | Assessed at 20% | Tax before credit | After $600 credit | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $100,000 | $20,000 | $1,011 | $411 | $34.27 |
| $150,000 | $30,000 | $1,517 | $917 | $76.40 |
| $154,000 (county median, rounded) | $30,800 | $1,557 | $957 | $79.77 |
| $250,000 | $50,000 | $2,528 | $1,928 | $160.67 |
| $500,000 | $100,000 | $5,056 | $4,456 | $371.33 |
Calculated at the 50.56 mill Conway County average for 2026 collections. One $600 credit is deducted in each row, assuming a qualified primary residence.
Conway County median home value and median tax
This section is historical and statistical information for comparison. Nothing in this section is used by the calculator, and none of it is specific to your parcel.
The gap between the median bill and a millage-derived figure is worth understanding here. Multiplying the median home value of $154,100 by the 20% assessment ratio and the 50.56 mill average implies roughly $1,558, against a surveyed median of $862. Part of that gap is the Amendment 79 cap, which holds taxable value below full assessed value. Part of it is location: many Conway County parcels sit in the cheaper rural districts at 45.4 to 49.1 mills rather than in a city tier at 54.1. Read the ACS figures as background, and rely on the calculator above for planning.

-
Exactly 5.0 mills in every one of the four cities that levy a city tax: Menifee, Morrilton, Oppelo and Plumerville. Each city reaches the same 5.0 mill total, though Morrilton and Plumerville assemble theirs from more components.

October 15, the statewide deadline. The county's online payment service adds a 3.6% processing fee to card payments.
-
Assessment records are on actDataScout, which the county sponsors. Tax records and receipts are on ARCountyData, sponsored by the collector. Payment and parcel search are both on CountyPay at countypay.ark.org, where you can find parcels by name or street address as well as by number.
-
Because only one school district, South Conway County, has parcels inside the cities. The county's other six districts, Nemo Vista, Wonderview, Dardanelle, Greenbrier, Perryville and Two Rivers, appear only as rural tiers, so no city address uses them.
-
Your parcel uses its own school district rather than the 50.56 mill county average, and Amendment 79 caps can hold your taxable value below 20% of market value. That cap is 5% annually on a homestead and 10% on other real property.
